2/3 c. butter or margarine
1 3/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3 c. cake flour
1/2 c. fresh grapefruit juice
3/4 c. milk
1 tsp. grated grapefruit peel
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
Preparation

In large bowl, cream butter.
Gradually add sugar; beat well. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Sift together flour, baking powder and salt; add to creamed mixture, alternating with grapefruit juice (beginning and ending with flour mixture).
Gradually add milk.
Stir in peel and vanilla; mix well.
Pour batter into 2 greased and floured 9-inch round pans. Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 30 minutes, or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Cool in pans for 10 minutes.
Remove; let cool completely.
Frost with Grapefruit Frosting.
