Gingersnaps - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. white sugar
    3/4 c. shortening or butter
    1 large egg
    1/4 c. molasses
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. ginger
    1/4 tsp. ground cloves
    2 c. flour
Preparation
    Mix sugar, butter and egg together.
    Add molasses and spices. Blend in flour gradually.
    Chill dough in refrigerator for 1 hour for easier handling.
    Shape into 1-inch balls.
    Roll into sugar and place 2 inches apart.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 8 minutes.
    Don't overbake.
