Beef Curry - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    1 medium onion, sliced in rings
    3 tsp. curry powder or sage
    1 1/2 lb. flank steak, cut in cubes
    1/2 lb. mushrooms (fresh or canned)
    1 (15 oz.) can stewed tomatoes
    1 large garlic clove, minced
    2 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. sugar
    2 c. water (approximately)
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    2 Tbsp. water
Preparation
    Heat oil in heavy skillet. Saute onions over medium heat just until tender. Stir in curry or sage; cook 1 minute. Add beef cubes and next 5 ingredients in order listed. Continue cooking until beef cubes are lightly browned. Add enough water to barely cover beef. Cover and cook 1 1/2 hours until beef is tender. Thicken with cornstarch/water mixture. Serve over rice or noodles.
