Old Fashioned Apple Butter - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 lb. tart apples
    3 c. apple cider
    4 c. sugar
    3 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. cloves
Preparation
    Wash, peel and quarter apples.
    Bring apples and cider to a boil.
    Reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 20 to 25 minutes. Puree apple mixture in blender.
    Add sugar and spices, mixing well. Pour puree into a shallow baking pan and bake at 300\u00b0 for 2 hours or until thick to hold its shape.
    Pour into hot sterile jars and seal.
    Makes 4 to 5 pints.
