Christmas Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1 1/2 c. cream
    1 c. syrup
    dash of salt and vanilla
    1 c. candied pineapple
    1 c. diced candied cherries
    1 1/2 c. nuts
    1 1/2 c. walnuts
Preparation
    Cream sugar, syrup and salt; cook in large pan.
    Cook until sugar dissolves (boil 1 minute covered).
    Uncover; cook to soft ball stage.
    Add vanilla; beat on high speed mixer until creamy. Add all other ingredients.
    Pour into square pan.
    Chill.
