Quick Cucumber Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 c. vinegar
    5 c. sugar
    3 c. water
    1 tsp. each: cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice and salt
    1 gal. chunked cucumbers
    onion rings (optional)
Preparation
    Mix vinegar, sugar, water and spices.
    Simmer 10 minutes.
    Add cucumbers and onion rings, if desired.
    Boil 5 minutes.
    Pack cucumber chunks in jars; cover with hot syrup and seal immediately.
    Or, store in jars in refrigerator.
    Makes 1 gallon.
