Tavern Spoon Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 c. water
2 cans milk
1 1/2 c. cornmeal
1 1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. sugar
2 Tbsp. butter
5 eggs
1 Tbsp. baking powder
Preparation

Combine water and milk; heat to simmer.
Add the cornmeal, salt, sugar and butter; stir over medium heat until mixture is thickened, about 5 minutes.
Remove from the heat.
Beat the eggs with baking powder until they are very light and fluffy, then add to cornmeal mixture, mixing well.
Pour into greased shallow baking dish.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 to 50 minutes.
Serve hot.
