Fresh Apple Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 Tbsp. butter, softened
    1 c. sugar
    1 beaten egg
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. soda
    1 c. sifted flour
    3 c. apples or substitute nuts or raisins
Preparation
    Cream the shortening and sugar.
    Add egg and mix well.
    Sift dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture.
    Add vanilla.
    Stir in apples.
    If mixture is dry, add small amount of water.
    Pour in greased oblong baking dish.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 minutes.
