Salmon With Toast Topping - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    4 Tbsp. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    dash of pepper
    liquid from salmon plus enough milk to make 2 c.
    16 oz. can salmon
    3/4 c. grated cheese
    3 to 4 slices buttered bread
Preparation
    Melt butter or margarine in pan over medium heat.
    Blend in flour, salt and pepper.
    Add salmon liquid and milk and cook until thick, stirring frequently.
    When mixture has thickened, remove from heat; add salmon and cheese.
    Pour into greased 1 1/2-quart casserole.
    Place bread (cut in pieces) on top.
    Bake at 400\u00b0
    for 20 to 25 minutes until bubbly and browned.
