Date Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. chopped pitted dates
    1 tsp. soda
    1 c. boiling water
    3/4 c. dark brown sugar, well packed
    1/4 c. melted butter or oleo
    1 egg, beaten
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. walnuts
Preparation
    Put dates in bowl; sprinkle soda over dates.
    Pour water over and let cool.
    Mix all well together.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 in loaf pan for about 1 hour.
    Double recipe for Bundt pan.
