Sherried Beef - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. lean beef cubes
    1 1/2 c. dry sherry
    1/2 tsp. garlic powder
    1 Tbsp. soy sauce
    1 c. fresh mushrooms, halved
    1 pkg. brown gravy mix
Preparation
    Marinate beef with sherry, garlic powder and soy sauce several hours.
    Drain, reserving liquid.
    Brown meat in deep heavy skillet; add reserved liquid and simmer 2 hours, covered.
    Add mushrooms, cooking 5 to 10 minutes, according to taste.
    Mix in gravy mix to thicken and serve over rice or noodles.
