Candied Walnut Halves - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. walnut halves
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. water
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Place the walnut halves in a shallow pan; heat in oven at 325\u00b0 for about 10 minutes.
    Cook the sugar, water, cinnamon and salt to soft ball stage (236\u00b0) without stirring.
    Remove from heat.
    Add the vanilla.
    Add nuts; stir gently until all nuts are covered and mixture is creamy.
    Turn out onto a buttered platter.
    Separate nut halves as they cool.
