Ingredients

1/2 c. whiskey
1 lb. white seeded raisins
1/2 lb. candied pineapple
1/2 lb. candied cherries
1/4 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. nutmeg and cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves
1 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. soda
1 Tbsp. buttermilk
1 lb. pecans
Preparation

Pour whiskey over raisins, pineapple and cherries.
Cream butter and sugar; add eggs, one at a time.
Mix spices with flour. Dissolve soda in buttermilk.
Add flour mixture alternately with buttermilk to creamed mixture.
Add fruit mixture and pecans. Drop from teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet.
Bake 20 minutes at 300\u00b0.
Cookies not only keep well but improve after 2 or 3 days. Yield:
6 dozen cookies.
