Autumn Apple Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple, undrained
    2/3 c. granulated sugar
    1 (3 oz.) pkg. lemon Jello, dry
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
    1 c. red delicious apples, diced (unpeeled)
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
    1 c. celery, chopped
    1 c. Cool Whip
Preparation
    Place pineapple and sugar in saucepan and boil for 3 minutes.
    Add lemon Jello.
    Stir well and cool. Place cream cheese in medium mixing bowl.
    Gradually blend in pineapple mixture. Fold in apples, nuts, celery, and Cool Whip.
    Place in oblong 9 x 13 inch baking dish and refrigerate.
    Keeps well.
