Perfect Peppermint Patties - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (1 lb.) box confectioners sugar
    3 Tbsp. butter, softened
    2 to 3 tsp. peppermint extract
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/4 c. evaporated milk
    2 c. (12 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
    2 Tbsp. shortening
Preparation
    In a bowl, combine first 4 ingredients. Add milk and mix well. Roll into 1-inch balls and place on waxed paper-lined cookie sheet. Chill for 20 minutes. Flatten with a glass to 1/4-inch; chill for 30 minutes. Melt chocolate chips and shortening. Dip patties; place on wax paper to harden. Makes 5 dozen.
