Oven Beef Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 lb. beef, cut in cubes
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    2 (10 1/2 oz.) cans tomato soup
    1 1/2 c. chopped onion
    1/2 tsp. basil, chopped
    4 medium potatoes, cubed
    4 medium carrots
    1/2 c. red wine or water
Preparation
    Combine flour and salt; coat meat.
    Brown in hot shortening. Add soup, 2 1/2 cups water, onion and basil.
    Cover and bake about 1 hour in a 370\u00b0 oven.
    Add potatoes, carrots and wine; bake 1 hour longer.
