Potato Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    10 medium to large potatoes, peeled and diced to bite-size
    1 medium onion, chopped coarse
    1 stalk celery, chopped medium
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1/2 tsp. salt (if desired)
    1/2 tsp. garlic powder
    1 1/2 tsp. cornstarch
Preparation
    Place potatoes in large saucepan; add cold water until just covered.
    Add onion and celery.
    Boil until potatoes are just tender.
    Add garlic and pepper; boil until almost mushy.
    Place cornstarch in a cup; add 1/2 cup very hot water.
    Stir well.
    Pour cornstarch mixture slowly into potato soup.
    Stir constantly until thickened.
