Ingredients

1 stick margarine
2 c. light brown sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1 3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt (if using plain flour)
1 tsp. baking powder (if using plain flour)
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Melt margarine over low heat.
Stir in sugar.
Cool and add eggs.
Stir well and add flour, vanilla and nuts.
Pour into well-greased and floured 10 x 15 x 2-inch pan. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes. Cut in squares while warm.
Before cooking, add chocolate chips to top of batter if desired.
