Surprise Pudding Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. (9 oz.) chocolate or yellow cake mix
    3 (2 1/16 oz. each) 3 Musketeers bars or 6 fun-size bars, thinly sliced
    1/2 c. water
    1/4 c. light corn syrup or honey
    whipped cream or vanilla ice cream (optional)
Preparation
    Prepare cake mix according to package directions.
    Pour into greased 8-inch square baking pan.
    Arrange sliced candy evenly over cake batter.
    Combine water and corn syrup in saucepan; heat just to bubbles appear around edge of pan.
    Pour over cake batter and candy.
    Bake in preheated 350\u00b0 oven, 30 to 35 minutes.
    Let rest 5 minutes.
    Spoon out of pan while warm.
    If desired, serve plain or top with whipped cream or ice cream.
    Makes 8 or 9 servings.
