Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. hot, thick applesauce
4 tsp. soda
3/4 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
4 c. flour
cinnamon to taste
nutmeg to taste
cloves to taste
nuts
dates
raisins

Preparation

Combine applesauce, soda and shortening.
Add sugar and spices.
Add salt, flour, nuts, dates and raisins.
Bake in two loaf pans at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 45 minutes.
For Christmas, add some candied cherries.
