Cheddar Grits And Sausage Bake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. bulk sausage (mild to hot)
    1 3/4 c. water
    1/2 c. quick cooking grits
    1 1/2 c. shredded Cheddar or American cheese (6 oz.)
    1 egg, beaten
    1/2 c. milk
    1 tsp. dry parsley flakes
    1/8 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Cook sausage in skillet until no longer pink; drain well. Meanwhile, in a large saucepan, bring water to boiling.
    Slowly add grits, stirring constantly.
    Cook and stir until boiling again.
    Reduce heat; cover and simmer about 5 minutes or until water is absorbed and mixture is thick, stirring occasionally. Add 1 cup of the cheese, stirring until cheese melts.
    Remove pan from the heat.
