Layered Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce, cut up
    1/4 c. chopped green onion
    1 (6 oz.) can sliced water chestnuts
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas, do not thaw
    1 c. mayonnaise
    8 slices crisp bacon, crumbled
    2 hard-boiled eggs, chopped
    2 medium tomatoes, peeled and chopped
Preparation
    In a deep crystal bowl layer all the ingredient in order listed.
    Sprinkle generously with Parmesan cheese.
    Add salt and pepper to taste.
    Chill until ready to serve.
