Pecan Sticks - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. butter or oleo
    1 c. light brown sugar
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. cake flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 to 1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Blend butter, sugar and egg and beat well.
    Add vanilla and dry ingredients.
    Mix well and add pecans.
    Spread in 10 3/4 x 7 x 1 1/2-inch or 8 x 8-inch buttered pan.
    Bake in moderate 350\u00b0 oven until firm and light brown and the cookies have pulled away slightly from pan.
    Let cool 5 minutes.
    Cut in bars.
