Baked Rice Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 c. uncooked short grain rice
    1 qt. milk (4 c.)
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/8 tsp. nutmeg or 1 Tbsp. vanilla
    2 to 3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 300\u00b0. Sprinkle rice evenly over bottom of buttered 1 1/2 quart casserole dish. Mix milk and sugar.
    Pour over rice; sprinkle with nutmeg and dot with butter.
    Bake, uncovered, for 2 1/2 hours, stirring every 15 minutes for first 1 1/2 hours. Serve warm if you like, topped with cream.
