Fruit Cake Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2/3 c. packed brown sugar
    1/2 c. butter
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1 lb. (2 2/3 c.) pitted whole dates, chopped
    1 (4 oz.) jar (2/3 c.) candied cherries, chopped
    2 candied pineapple, chopped
    1/2 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    In large mixing bowl, cream sugar and butter.
    Add eggs and vanilla.
    Sift flour, soda and salt; add to mixture.
    Stir in fruits and nuts.
    Chill batter.
