French Texas Toast - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 (1-inch) thick slices white bread (Texas toast)
    4 eggs
    1 c. milk
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    oil or shortening to grease griddle
    syrup or powdered sugar
Preparation
    Gently crack eggs into pan or large bowl.
    Add milk, sugar and vanilla.
    Whisk until blended.
    Dip the bread into egg mixture to coat each side.
    Place in heated frypan and cook 3 to 4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
