Grandma'S Cobbler - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. fruit
    1 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. baking powder
    2/3 c. sugar
    1/4 c. shortening
    1 beaten egg
    1/2 c. milk
Preparation
    Place fruit in greased 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
    Sprinkle with 1 cup sugar and dot with butter or margarine.
    Heat in a 350\u00b0 oven while mixing batter.
    Sift remaining dry ingredients together. Cut in shortening.
    Stir in combined egg and milk.
    Spoon over hot fruit.
    Bake for 30 to 35 minutes.
