Ingredients

2 Tbsp. water
4 Tbsp. granulated sugar
2 1/3 c. sifted powdered sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 egg
1/2 c. Crisco
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Boil water and granulated sugar for a few minutes.
Mix powdered sugar, salt and egg.
Blend into syrup.
Add Crisco and vanilla.
Beat until creamy.
Yields enough for two 9-inch cakes.
