Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. water
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. water
    1 c. light corn syrup
    1 lb. raw peanuts
    3 Tbsp. margarine
Preparation
    Mix the soda, vanilla and water; set aside.
    Mix sugar, water and corn syrup.
    Boil over medium heat until candy thermometer reaches 240\u00b0.
    Stir in peanuts and margarine; stir until 300\u00b0. Remove from heat and add soda mixture.
    Pour into two buttered pans (9 x 13-inch).
    (Keep warm in 200\u00b0 oven.)
    When cool, break into pieces.
