Spareribs Country Style - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. spareribs, cut into bite size pieces
    1/4 c. shortening
    3/4 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. rubbed sage
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
Preparation
    In a large skillet, melt shortening.
    Brown ribs on both sides in hot fat.
    Add boiling water to almost cover meat; simmer, covered, until tender, or about 1 1/2 hours.
    Potatoes may be cooked in the liquid, or a gravy may be made by thickening with flour and seasoning, after meat has been moved to serving platter. Spareribs go well with sauerkraut, too.
