Hot Mulled Cider - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    2 qt. cider
    1 tsp. whole allspice
    1 1/2 tsp. whole cloves
    2 sticks cinnamon
    orange slices
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients in a heavy pan or slow cooker.
    It's best to put spices in a tea strainer or tie in cheesecloth; otherwise cider will have to be strained before serving.
    Cover and turn heat very low (below boiling temperature).
    Let heat from two to eight hours.
