"Home Canned" Apple Pie Filling - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. cornstarch
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. salt
    10 c. water
Preparation
    Cook all ingredients until thick and bubbly, stirring often. Add 3 tablespoons lemon juice.
    Pack jars with sliced apples. Fill with syrup.
    Process 20 minutes in hot water bath.
