Banana Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs, slightly beaten
    1 c. mashed bananas
    1 tsp. vanilla or lemon extract or 1/2 tsp. each
    2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. milk or cream
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Butter and flour a 9-inch square pan. Cream until light and fluffy the butter.
    Beat in gradually the sugar.
    Add eggs; beat thoroughly.
    Add bananas and vanilla or lemon extract.
    Sift together flour, baking soda (1 teaspoon sour milk or cream is used) and salt.
    Add flour mixture to butter mixture alternately with milk or cream.
    Spoon into pan.
    Bake about 35 to 40 minutes.
    Cut into squares and serve with whipped cream on top.
