Cookies While You Sleep - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 egg whites
    dash of salt
    1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
    2/3 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. almond extract
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. chopped pecans
    1 c. chocolate chips
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Beat egg whites until foamy. Add salt and cream of tartar. Beat well. Gradually add sugar.
    Beat until very stiff. Add almond extract and vanilla extract.
    Fold in pecans and chocolate morsels. Drop by teaspoonfuls on cookie sheet lined with ungreased heavy brown paper or foil.
    Place in oven and turn off heat at once. Do not peek!
    Leave overnight. Yields 4 dozen.
