Caramel Icing(3 Layers) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 sticks butter
    3 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. flour
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. milk
    1/2 c. sugar (to melt)
    tiny pinch of salt
Preparation
    Mix sugar (3 cups), flour and salt; add milk and butter. Bring to a boil.
    Add the 1/2 cup sugar which has been caramelized in a small heavy pan.
    Cook to soft ball stage.
    Add vanilla. Beat.
    If icing gets too stiff, add a few drops of milk.
