Cheese Straws - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sifted flour
    1/4 tsp. cayenne
    8 Tbsp. melted shortening
    5 Tbsp. ice water
    1 tsp. salt
    2 c. grated sharp Cheddar
Preparation
    Combine flour, salt and cayenne.
    Stir in shortening and Cheddar cheese with fork.
    Cut into flour mixture. Sprinkle ice water over mixture. When dough forms, divide into thirds and roll onto floured board to about 1/4-inch thick.
    Cut into narrow strips approximately 4 x 1/2-inch (or the size you desire).
    Bake in quick 400\u00b0 oven about 8 or 9 minutes. Watch carefully. Do not scorch.
    Remove from oven and place on wire rack to cool.
