Ingredients

2 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3 eggs, separated
1 3/4 c. milk
1/2 c. melted shortening
Preparation

Mix dry ingredients thoroughly.
Add sugar to stiffly beaten egg whites and beat until mixture stands in soft peak.
Beat egg yolks; add milk and shortening.
Pour into flour mixture.
Beat until smooth.
Fold in egg whites.
Use 1/2 cup batter for each waffle.
