Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. soft shortening
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. brown sugar
    2 eggs
    3 Tbsp. Karo syrup
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking soda
    3 c. rolled oats
Preparation
    Mix together first 6 ingredients thoroughly.
    Mix next 3 ingredients together, add together.
    Stir in 3 c. rolled oats. Shape into 2 logs about 5 x 2 1/2 inches thick.
    Chill for several hours or overnight.
    Slice thin (1/8 inch) using a sharp knife. Place on cookie sheet, lightly greased.
    Bake 8 minutes (time may vary) at 400\u00b0.
