Fresh Strawberry Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 pt. strawberries
    3 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/4 tsp. almond flavoring
    1 c. sweetened whipped cream
    1 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. lemon juice
    1 baked 9-inch pie shell
Preparation
    Wash and hull the strawberries.
    Reserve half (the better looking ones) and mash the remainder.
    To the mashed berries, add the sugar and cornstarch.
    Mix well; cook for 5 minutes, stirring constantly, until thickened and clear.
    Stir in lemon juice and almond flavoring.
    Cool.
    Add the remaining berries (whole ones). Pour into pie shell and chill.
    Before serving, top with a ruff of whipped cream.
