Maple Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 egg
    2 Tbsp. butter, melted
    1/2 c. plus 2 Tbsp. maple syrup, divided
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. firmly packed brown sugar
    1/4 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 400\u00b0.
    Grease muffin tins.
    In medium bowl, stir egg, melted butter, 1/2 cup maple syrup and vanilla.
    Add flour, baking powder and salt.
    Stir until just blended.
    Batter will be lumpy.
    Pour batter in muffin tins.
    In small bowl, stir together the brown sugar, pecans and remaining maple syrup.
    Spoon over muffins.
    Bake 8 to 10 minutes until wooden pick inserted comes out clean.
    Remove pans to wire rack; let cool 5 minutes.
    A great way to start a cool Fall morning.
