Sweet Sliced Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 gal. cucumbers
    14 small white onions
    4 large green peppers
    3/4 c. salt
    10 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. turmeric
    1 tsp. ground cloves
    1 tsp. celery seed
    1/4 c. mustard seed
    2 1/2 qt. vinegar (white)
Preparation
    Slice cucumbers 1/8-inch thick, after washing thoroughly. Slice peeled onions likewise.
    Cut pepper into fine bits.
    Mix salt through combined cucumbers, onions and pepper in crock or large plastic container.
    Place weighted lid on mixture.
    Let stand 3 hours, pouring off liquid about every hour and then stirring.
