Mud Pie Chocolate Cake - cooking recipe

1 1/2 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. cocoa
1 tsp. baking soda
6 Tbsp. vegetable oil
1 Tbsp. vinegar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1 c. water
1/3 c. walnuts (optional)
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Sift flour, sugar, cocoa and baking soda into an ungreased 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking pan.
Make three holes in mixture and pour oil into the first hole, vinegar in the second hole and vanilla in the third hole.
Beat eggs with water in a small bowl and pour over dry ingredients.
Add nuts.
Stir with a fork until evenly blended.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 minutes or until center springs back when lightly touched with fingertips. Cool in pan on wire rack.
