Rice Pilaf - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. butter or margarine
    1 c. rice
    2 1/4 c. chicken broth
    1/4 c. raisins (optional)
    1 1/2 tsp. curry powder
    1/4 c. slivered almonds
    1 Tbsp. butter
Preparation
    Melt butter; stir in rice and cook on high heat until rice is browned.
    Add other ingredients.
    Cook on high for 4 to 6 minutes, then on medium-low heat for 12 to 14 minutes.
    Let stand, covered, for 5 minutes.
