Fresh Strawberry Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 1/2 c. sugar
5 Tbsp. cornstarch
2 c. ginger ale or 7-Up
1 small box strawberry gelatin
2 pt. fresh strawberries, sliced
2 (9-inch) pie crusts, baked
red food coloring

Preparation

Combine sugar, cornstarch and ginger ale in heavy pan; cook over medium heat until thick and clear.
Add gelatin and red food coloring.
Let cool.
Stir in strawberries.
Pour into pie crusts and chill.
Serve with whipped topping, if desired.
