Divinity - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 c. sugar
2 large egg whites
1/2 c. light corn syrup
1 tsp. vanilla (optional)
1/2 c. cold water
1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation

Place sugar, syrup and water in pan over low heat, stirring until only sugar dissolves.
Cook until syrup forms a hard boil when dropped in cold water. Add a pinch of cream of tartar to egg whites, then beat until stiff.
Slowly pour syrup over egg whites while beating with electric mixer.
Add vanilla.
Continue beating until mixture is thick enough to drop from spoon and will not run. Add nuts.
Drop on wax paper.
