Clam Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 pt. or 1 c. fresh clams
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1 chopped green onion
    1 small diced potato
    1 c. boiling water
    1 c. hot milk
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Chop the clams.
    Melt the butter in a pan and add the onion, potato and water.
    Simmer for 20 minutes or until the potato is tender.
    Add clams; cook 3 minutes.
    Add the milk and heat but don't boil.
    Add salt and pepper to taste.
    Serve with crisp crackers.
