Date Loaf Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1 c. milk
    8 oz. dates, cut fine
    2 Tbsp. oleo
    1 c. nuts
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Let sugar and milk boil for a few minutes.
    Add dates.
    Stir and mash dates while cooking.
    Cook to the soft ball stage; add oleo, nuts and vanilla.
    Knead with spoon well.
    Roll in damp cloth and allow to harden.
    Unroll and cut into 1/2-inch slices.
