Cabbage Patch Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. ground meat (extra lean)
    1 large onion, chopped
    1/2 c. celery, chopped
    1 bell pepper, chopped
    1 can tomatoes, mashed
    1 can kidney beans with liquid
    1 can chili beans with liquid
    3 to 4 c. shredded cabbage
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Put meat, onion, pepper and celery in Dutch oven and steam covered over medium heat until meat turns white, breaking up meat with fork as you stir occasionally.
    Add tomatoes, beans, salt and pepper.
    Bring to boil; add cabbage, pushing cabbage just under liquid.
    Cover and simmer 20 to 30 minutes; adjust seasonings. Freezes well.
