German Chocolate Pound Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 bar Baker's German sweet chocolate
2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening or 2 sticks margarine
4 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
3 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. soda
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. imitation butter flavoring
Preparation

Partly melt chocolate over hot water.
Remove and stir rapidly until melted.
Cool and cream sugar and shortening.
Add eggs, one at a time, with flour, flavoring and buttermilk (sift together flour, soda and salt) and add to shortening.
Mix well. Blend in chocolate.
Pour into a well-greased and floured tube pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 about 1 1/2 hours or until done.
Remove from pan while still hot and place under tightly fitting cover until thoroughly cooled.
