Veal Shanks - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 pieces veal shanks
3 Tbsp. flour
1/2 c. cooking oil
1 minced garlic clove
1 onion, chopped
2 carrots, chopped
1 stalk celery, chopped
1 can whole tomatoes, chopped
2 bay leaves
1 c. dry white wine
salt and pepper
1/4 c. parsley, chopped
1 lemon peel, grated
Preparation

Coat 4 pieces of
veal shanks with flour.
Heat cooking oil in heavy skillet
and add minced garlic clove.
Add shanks and
brown on
both
sides.
Add
chopped
onion
and chopped carrots.
Add celery,
tomatoes,\tbay
leaves and white wine. Cook
slowly
1 1/2 to 2 hours.
Add salt and pepper to taste. Sprinkle
with parsley and grated lemon peel.
Serve with rice or spaghetti. Makes 4 servings.
